The May River Sharks delivered a clinical performance on the pitch, overwhelming Colleton County Cougars in a 9–0 victory that extended their perfect start to the season.
The game was played on March 13 at Colleton County High School.
May River’s attack thrived through efficient finishing and crisp distribution, turning nine goals and seven assists into a well-balanced offensive showing. Senior Erik Robertello, Jr. set the tone with two goals and two assists, leading the Sharks with a six-point performance. Favio Moro added two goals of his own, giving May River steady production from its senior core. Talan Liedtke contributed both a goal and an assist, reinforcing the team’s unselfish rhythm. Freshman Gianluca Sarli, junior David Sopo Peña, seniors Sean Arroyo, and Marcus Jean Gilles added single goals to round out the scoring. With contributions spread across every grade level, including junior Samson Pelger and senior Coleman Jacobi’s assists, May River showed cohesion and confidence built on shared playmaking.
Looking ahead, the May River varsity soccer team will have a home conference match against Hilton Head Island on Friday, March 20, at 7 p.m., according to MaxPreps.
The Sharks defeated the Seahawks during their last conference match on April 25 by a score of 3-1.
