Under stormy skies and beneath the glare of Friday night lights, May River High School decisively defeated Georgetown with a 38-0 victory, leaving no doubt about their dominance on the field.
The game took place on September 26 at May River High School. Senior Sean Mitchell was a key player, accumulating 206 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. According to the match report, Mitchell also caught the team’s only pass of the night, a 22-yard touchdown from Luc Tran, marking the Sharks’ lone completion. The performance underscored Mitchell’s significant contribution to the team.
The Sharks achieved 335 rushing yards, effectively advancing downfield while their defense maintained strong pressure. Zavier Polite led this defensive effort with nine solo tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks, consistently challenging Georgetown’s backfield.
May River’s defense forced one interception and allowed zero points, maintaining tight control over Georgetown’s offense throughout the game.
