The May River Sharks defeated the Hilton Head Island Seahawks 1–0 in a varsity boys soccer conference match.

The result marks a key victory for May River High School, as both teams competed in a low-scoring contest defined by defense and ball control. The match took place on March 20 at May River High School, according to MaxPreps.

May River edged Hilton Head Island after two scoreless quarters, with the decisive goal coming in the final period. Junior Jack Wheat delivered the game-winner, finishing with one goal and two points overall. Senior Erik Robertello added an assist and a steal to help set up the score. The Sharks’ field stats showed three combined steals and a key clearance, underscoring their ability to limit Hilton Head’s chances. With consistent pressure and timely execution, May River turned a defensive grind into a narrow but satisfying victory.

Looking ahead, May River will travel to Wando for a non-conference varsity soccer matchup on Saturday, March 28 at 12 p.m. This will be the first match between the May River Sharks and the Wando Warriors.
