May River High School’s football team secured a decisive victory over Colleton County, winning 35–12 in a game characterized by strong ground play and defensive resilience.
The match occurred on October 3 at May River High School. Quarterback Luc Tran completed the Sharks’ only pass of the night with a 31-yard throw to Justin Head. However, it was their rushing attack that proved pivotal, amassing 260 yards on the ground.
Tony Cooper contributed significantly with 72 yards and two touchdowns from six carries. Justin Head added another 80 yards and scored once, while Tran himself gained 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Despite facing challenges with 25 penalties, May River’s defense remained solid. Charlie Crace and Mason Campbell were instrumental in defense, combining for 16 tackles. Michael Poole and Devin Ryan played crucial roles by forcing turnovers, including an interception.
Colleton County managed to score twice but struggled against May River’s aggressive playstyle. The victory further establishes May River as a formidable team known for its speed and intensity.
