May River High School secured a 14–7 victory over Bishop England in a challenging defensive match on Friday night. The game, characterized by its intense physicality and lack of aerial play, took place on October 10 at May River High School.
According to the match details, the Sharks relied heavily on Sean Mitchell, who carried the team with 32 rushes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Supported by a determined offensive line, Mitchell managed to push through defenses and maintain possession as May River focused on ground-based strategies.
There were no passing yards recorded from either team, transforming the game into a traditional ground battle. The Sharks accumulated a total of 260 rushing yards, with contributions from Justin Head, who added 51 yards on 13 carries, and Tony Cooper, who provided crucial first downs.
Despite facing challenges such as a costly fumble and ten penalties, May River’s defense remained resilient. They successfully halted Bishop England’s final drive to secure their win.
