May River varsity basketball rolls to eighth straight, tops John Paul II 61–52

May River defeated John Paul II 61‑52 in a non‑conference varsity basketball matchup. 

The game took place on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at John Paul II High School in Ridgeland. 

KJ Ford powered the Sharks’ win, scoring 20 points on 46% shooting. He also extended his streak of two-plus steals to five games. Luke McMahon added 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting, and Luke Albright contributed 5.3 rebounds per game to the effort. The victory moved May River to 8-0.

Up next: May River’s varsity basketball team hosts Hilton Head Christian Academy in a non‑conference matchup on Monday, Dec. 15.

May River and John Paul II last squared off on Dec. 10, 2024, with May River pulling out a 45–43 win.
