May River Sharks dominates Hilton Head Island Seahawks in shutout conference lacrosse win

The May River Sharks defeated the Hilton Head Island Seahawks 13–0 in a varsity boys lacrosse conference game.

The matchup took place at May River High School and saw the home team deliver a shutout performance. 

The Sharks scored 13 goals on 43 total shots, with 28 shots on target. They finished with a .302 shooting percentage and recorded eight assists on their 13 goals. Junior Wesley Barnes led the offense with five goals and two assists on nine attempts, producing a team‑high seven points. Turner Johnson added three goals on ten shots, while Drew Ernst scored twice and finished with a .400 shooting mark. Sophomore Renner Taylor contributed one goal and two assists for three points. 

Freshman Miller Magee added both a goal and an assist, and junior Caden Riva matched that line with two points of his own. Brody Szymanski recorded two assists, while Braxton Stevens and Grant Turner each generated shot attempts that helped sustain pressure throughout the game. May River’s scoring was balanced across all four quarters, with outputs of 2, 4, 4, and 3 goals respectively, while holding Hilton Head Island scoreless.

Looking ahead, May River will host Bluffton on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. 

The last time these teams met, the Sharks defeated the Bobcats on Feb. 27, 2025, by a score of 20–0, according to MaxPreps.
