In a competitive matchup on Friday night, the May River Sharks secured a 34-16 victory over Lake City High School. The game showcased the Sharks’ effective coordination between offense and defense, establishing their lead from the start.
According to reports, Sean Mitchell was pivotal in May River’s performance, leading the ground attack with 28 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns. His average of 6.9 yards per carry played a significant role in controlling the game’s tempo. Mitchell also demonstrated versatility with a 25-yard touchdown reception.
The Sharks’ defense limited Lake City to 225 passing yards. Mason Sweigart and Zavier Polite were instrumental on the defensive line, each recording a sack and maintaining pressure on Lake City’s quarterback. Michael Poole contributed significantly with multiple pass breakups and interceptions.
